Beat the Heat
As the temperature soars you may feel your energy sink! Heat depletes your body of essential minerals Making you feel weak, limp and lethargic! Here are some hot health tips: Stay hydrated Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Stay clear of artificial ingredients that are challenging for your body to process. Read the label. If you can’t pronounce it,your body will have a tough time processing it!
Please your pulse points. If you feel overheated, run your wrists under water. The pulse point on your wrists will trigger relief for your entire body. Also you can take a wet washcloth and put it on the back of your neck ---a major temperature center for your body. A wet washcloth, ice pack or even running your hands and feet under cool water will immediately improve how you feel when you are overheated. Wear sunscreen Don’t underestimate the scorching sun’s effects on your skin. Do your best to prevent skin cancer and premature aging by slathering on sunscreen with at least 15 SPF. Eat Fruit Sweating depletes your body of potassium which may make you feel weak and lightheaded on ultra-hot days. Natural fruits like Bananas, oranges pack powerful potassium which gives your body a natural energy boost! Stay indoors or in shady spots. Don’t push yourself. The ozone layer which is supposed to protect us from harmful sun rays is severely compromised and the world is getting hotter than ever! Remember to protect yourself and don’t overdo it outside on hot summer days! Please take care of yourself and enjoy the summer fun! Love, Dr. Nancy
